Cinemascope 12/7

-New Director for Twilight Sequel?

Right Before I started to write this, this afternoon news came out that rumors are flooding the internet that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is not going to be rehired for New Moon, the Twilight Sequel that was greenlit about two weeks ago. Summit Entertainment is said to be ready to make an announcement in a few days and that the Editor Nancy Richardson was the one who saved the film. Click here to read the whole story.

-Slow Box Office

The weekend after thanksgiving weekend is normally a slow weekend for movies and this year was no different. The top seven movies for the most part stay the same and that means Four Christmases with Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon make it two weeks in a row for the holiday flick putting there two week total at just over 70 million, about ten million short of the production budget. The two new openings didn’t crack the top seven as Punisher: Warzone only makes 4 million and shows that The Punisher needs a new direction and Punisher to be successful. Cadillac Records opened to a limited opening and was able to grab 9th on the box office list with 3.5 Million.

1. Four Christmases – 18.1 Million

2. Twilight – 13.1 Million

3. Bolt – 9.6 Million

4. Australia – 7 Million

5. Quantum of Solace – 6.6 Million

Next week has one of the last big movies of the year releasing with “The Day the Earth Stood Still” staring Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connolly.

Quick review of this week so far

Sorry havent had much time this so this is gona be a quick sum up...first football heres my power rankings Giants #1 and thats it everyone else is playing in some other league no consistency from anyone except the Titans who pretty much just had an extra practice last week...

Tuesday Britney Spears birthday and the release of Circus...she performed on GMA from the Big Apple Circus how fitting...to sum it up it was freakin sweet and she looks like shes getting back to form definitely a long way since last years VMAs...i wouldnt say completely back to her oldself but almost there...

Last night...Tree lighting at Rockefellar Center(gonna have to go there a few times this winter) it was pretty cool with a ton of performances...then there was the Grammy nomination concert thing which didnt do much for me except bring up a big thing prepare for this....
HOW WERE THE JONAS BROTHERS IN ROCKEFELLAR CENTER PERFORMING LIVE BETWEEN 7-9 PM EASTERN TIME AND THEN BEING INTERVIEWED "LIVE" BY LL COOL J IN DOWNTOWN LA AT LIKE 915 EASTERN TIME????? someone was lying about being live and im assuming it was CBS and the Grammy show since i know people who were at the tree lighting....hmmmmmmmmmmm????

But its alright CBS made up for that with the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show which was freakin awesome as always...lots of faces in the crowd including Diddy, Paris, Martha, Terrence Howard and Russel Simmons...of course it wasnt live it was filmed last month...lots of beautiful models as usual...but i have to give it up to Mrs. Heidi Klum aka the wife of Seal and host of Project Runway...im just saying shes like 36 and has had 3 kids and still has a body like that wooooooo and to make things even better shes married to Seal whos the freakin Man!!!

CinemaScope 11/30:

Four Christmases wins Thanksgiving weekend Box Office-
Official number won’t be in till tomorrow morning but Four Christmases will make an estimated 31.6 Million over the weekend to knock off last weeks winner Twilight. The big name Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon comedy is probably the biggest holiday movie of the year will most likely be a big money maker till the end of the year.

Bolt was a surprise in the standings and is estimated to actually go up almost 2 percent in weekend earnings and will finish with around 26.5 Million.

Twilight dropped to third with 26.3 Million, that’s more than a 60 percent drop off from last weekend but there is still time today and it’s possible Bolt and Twilight could flip flop by the morning.

James Bond’s Quantum of Solace and the blockbuster flop Australia finished 4th and 5th with 19.5 and 14.8 million respectively.

The last new movie opening up this weekend was Transporter 3 which finished 7th just under Madagascar 2.

Next weekend there isn’t much action with new releases but the biggest release of the weekend will be “Cadillac Records which chronicles the rise of Chess Records and its recording artists. In this tale of sex, violence, race and rock and roll in Chicago of the 1950s and 60s, the film follows the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America's greatest musical legends.” - info via filmjabber.com
Cadillac Records stars Adrien Brody, Beyonce Knowles, Gabrielle Union, Columbus Short and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Punisher: WarZone is the other new release this weekend. With Thomas Jane out as the Punisher and Ray Stevenson in, this movie has lost a lot of appeal so don’t expect this one to make the big bucks.

LeBron the Movie?–
Lionsgate have acquired the rights to MORE THAN A GAME, a documentary about the varsity team at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, who travel a winding road from a rundown gymnasium to national glory and NBA riches, seeking to remain a tight-knit quintet even as LeBron James becomes a megamillionaire. The film is said not to be merely a record of James' achievements but as a feel-good story of overcoming adversity.

NFL Week 12

Ok im short on time so I am going to quickly work this power rankings...
1 - NY Giants - nothing to say here they can win with running, passing, defense, and now even special teams.
2 - NY Jets - Brett is now used to the system and as a result they have won 5 straight including over the Pats in Foxsborough and the undefeated Titans in Nashville...they have a top 5 defense like the Titans but they are also top 5 in scoring
3 - Titans - as much as i know they are not going anywhere but they are here because they are 10-1...we'll see who they are the last 2 games against Pittsburgh and a rejuvenated Indy
4 - Colts - 7-4, rejuvenated, healthy, Peyton, Vinatieri, no one wants a piece of them, Period.
5 - Steelers - So low because of inconsistent Offense, i mean come at home against San Diegos worst ranked pass defense and you only score 3 FGs. They got lucky the defense got a safety. And now this week they have to deal with the resurgent Pats and Matt Cassel...and guess what if they lose and the Ravens win they're tied for the division lead!
6 - Cardinals - On any given day there gonna score Alot. but they still cant run and there Defense is up and down so who knows.
7 - The Tampa Bay Bucs - why not right? They can run, they play awesome Defense, and Jeff Garcia is an animal.
8 - Panthers - they can be so much higher but whats with all this inconsistency people???
9 - Redskins - they have 4 losses and still have the Giants one more time...Portis is hurt but playing but for how long? they are still much better the Cowboys tho because they have a TEAM factor.
10 - Patriots - the only reason they are this low at 10 is because they arent currently in the playoffs..no one should at all be surprised to see the Pats make the playoffs because the way Cassel is playing with 400 pass yards in 2 straight games and rushing TDs...and now hes throwing deep to Moss...watch out Steelers....

24!!!

Yessir peeps 24 and Jack Bauer are back as of last night...and you guys also heard that CinemaScope is debuting Sunday...now i just need to hire some more experts in respective fields...anyway back to 24...now for all of us 24 fans we have waited about 18 months since the end of season 6 and the writers strike made sure we had no season last year freakin writers!! but I guess the writers got some more motivation with the extra $$ they have now because 24: Redemption was freakin sweet reminds you of 24 of old...season 6 was a so-so season at times good and at times just like ughhh...but after seeing that 5 minute or so preview of season 7 it looks AMAZING!!! i dont really know how many of you 24 fans out there are going to disagree with me on that...because season 7 is definetly looking like its gonna be the good old days of 24 when theres like 50 problems and each character has their own situation...because it seems the Madame President is going to have problems with the Africa situation and the fact her son is going to have a bounty on his head...then theres Jacks problems and who knows what else they will throw at us...the only bad thing to come out of all this is that we have to wait another 2 months ahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
