Alpz's power rankings

Okay…now that the main man has had his say, I’m going put it down for everyone about the NFL. This isn’t what I even get paid to do around here but...(Wait do I get paid? Sonny look into that) after looking at the sonny p power rankings we have seen that a critical rule has been broken. We don’t have ties in anything football related, hasn’t anyone learned anything after this weekend. We need clear rankings here people so I’m going to break the top 10 teams down.

1. Giants (9-1) – Apparently this is up for debate with some people, but they live in a fantasy world. With Eli maturing more every game, the defense making examples of people and the best trio of running backs in the league, the Giants are on the top of the NFL.

2. Titans (10-0) - The Titans may have offensive struggles when it comes to putting up a lot of points, but they score when they need to. The Titans are 10-0 and even though a lot of people criticize there schedule whether or not these teams are the same now doesn’t negate the fact that the Titans have beaten Jacksonville (twice), the Vikings, Green Bay, Baltimore, Chicago and the Colts.

3. Steelers (7-3) – The Steelers have traded wins and loses for the past 5 weeks but still are one of the best teams in the NFL. They have a defense that makes wide receivers and quarterbacks think twice and one of the toughest quarterbacks in the game today that can lead the Steelers to a title if he can control the turnovers.

4. Panthers (8-2) - Two consecutive games for fewer than 100 yards passing and still walking away with wins must say something. It does help facing the awful Raiders and Lions but regardless the Panthers are 8-2. They have a great running game that has kept them in the NFL elite, but if there passing game doesn’t step up as the rest of there games are all tough games, they might note be ranked this high after this week.

5. Jets (7-3) – The J-E-T-S Jets are sitting on top of the AFC East for the first time in a long time. After a game that used to be the Jets specialty in losing falls there way could it be a new life in the future of the Jets. Brett Favre is the face of the franchise but it’s really been the great additions of Faneca, Pace and Jenkins that has pushed the Jets towards a real Super Bowl threat. This Sunday could be the real change as the Jets face the Titans. Can the originally named New York Titans take down the current undefeated Tennessee Titans?

6. Colts (6-4) – With a 6-4 record the Colts are right now on fire. With Arizona and Tampa Bay holding better records, the Colts look like the Colts of old. Peyton Manning has been able to command his troops with on Manning type swag. With there schedule getting easier it looks like Colts are getting hot at the right time.

7. Cardinals (7-3) – The Cardinals have a chance to do some damage come the playoffs. Kurt Warner has showed again that like Brett Favre, you can never be too old to quarterback in the NFL. It looks like Warner could win the NFL MVP again this year and they seem to be getting better as the season goes on.

8. Redskins (6-4) – Washington has had a rough few weeks with two home loses. The coming week with Seattle looks to be a way to right the ship and get them to 7 wins on the season. If Jason Campbell and Portis can keep the skins on track, they’ll find themselves in the playoffs.

9. Tampa Bay (7-3) – The Bucs have quietly beaten some of the best teams in the league this season and while they don’t make highlight reels or lead Sportscenter at the end of the night, they put the W on the board more times than most. The question is can they finally step up in the playoffs.

10. Patriots (6-4) – This came down to the Patriots or Packers( I know there 5-5 but wait till the playoffs, they’ll be dangerous). But rounding out the top 10 is the Patriots, they look to rebound after the loss to the Jets and avenge there loss to the Dolphins earlier this year. Matt Cassel looks better every game and even with an aging defense the Pats make it tough for any team.

That’s it for this week people and remember that no one is unbeatable.
